LINKIN PARK's BENNINGTON Performs TEMPLE OF THE DOG Classic With CHRIS CORNELL; Video Available
July 18, 2008The "hottest" tour of the summer was ignited Wednesday night (July 16) in Boston as multi-platinum two-time Grammy-winning rock band LINKIN PARK and a combustible Projekt Revolution lineup lit up the Comcast Center.
The packed-house crowd experienced a plethora of highlights, including LINKIN PARK vocalist Chester Bennington joining former SOUNDGARDEN/AUDIOSLAVE frontman Chris Cornell onstage for a scorching rendition of the TEMPLE OF THE DOG classic "Hunger Strike". Cornell reciprocated later that evening with a guest performance on LINKIN PARK's 2001 blockbuster hit "Crawling", one of a handful of fan favorites delivered by LINKIN PARK.
During the course of the day-long event, fans saw blistering sets from electro-rockers THE BRAVERY, hip-hop innovator BUSTA RHYMES, ASHES DIVIDE featuring Billy Howerdel, known for his work with A PERFECT CIRCLE, Revolution stage headliners ATREYU, hard hitters 10 YEARS, fiery Ohio natives HAWTHORNE HEIGHTS, buzz band ARMOR FOR SLEEP and percussive force STREET DRUM CORPS.
In between performances, fans took in the festival-like atmosphere of the Projekt Revolution Village, which includes a Major League Baseball batting cage where contest winners competed against bandmembers from ATREYU, ASHES DIVIDE and THE BRAVERY, a Monster Energy Drink-sponsored gaming and TV lounge, a Konami tent where they can play the groundbreaking new music video game "Rock Revolution" and other Konami music-related games, an artist signing booth, and the Music for Relief booth presented by the new interactive video game Ultimate Band. Concertgoers can play Ultimate Band at the booth prior to its release on Nintendo Wii this fall.
